Frequently Asked Questions

What are the membership levels and how much do they cost?

Our membership fees vary depending on the type of membership. For SOCIAL membership, the monthly fees are £3.00 for JUNIOR and £7.00 for ADULT members. This makes us the cheapest tennis club in town. We also offer membership options including coaching lessons. For example the FOUNDATION membership, which includes coaching, starts at £15 per month for Toddlers, and £27 per month for both Juniors or Adults.

Why are the memberships fee half the price of the nearest competing tennis club?

Due to our location on school grounds, we are only able to offer access to the courts during evenings and weekends. Fortunately, this arrangement works well for the majority of our members who are either in school or employed during the daytime.

What is the membership period?

Club membership is ongoing and can be terminated at any point. However, please note that upon cancellation, you may receive a final invoice to settle any outstanding dues for the portion of membership that was used but not yet paid for.

What are the opening hours?

The courts are open on weekdays from 5:30 PM to 10:00 PM and on weekends from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM during school term. During school holidays, the courts are open from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM every day.

Is it true the club is closed for 4 weeks in July?

Unfortunately, King's School is completely closed during the month of July, which we understand may cause significant inconvenience, especially for those who enjoy playing tennis during that time. However, we want to assure you that we are actively searching for alternative options to address this issue.

Would I still need to pay for the entire year, even if coaching is not available during the summer?

Indeed, you will still be required to pay on a monthly basis, even if coaching is not available during the summer months. Our membership program aims to make things more convenient for parents by combining membership and lessons into a single payment plan. This eliminates the need to book lessons every half term and makes it more cost-effective as you are paying for 36 weeks of coaching over 12 months, instead of making six separate payments. (To clarify, the FOUNDATION MEMBERSHIP operates in the following manner: The membership fee costs £36 for the year, while 36 weeks of coaching lessons amounts to £288, making the total cost £324. Dividing this by 12 results in a monthly fee of £27).

Will I automatically receive club emails?

Our club members are automatically subscribed to our mailing list and will receive periodic emails containing updates and information regarding club news and upcoming events.
