Why Cambridgeshire named us Tennis Club of the Year

Life at 10is Academy

Life at 10is Academy is not built around a timetable. It is built around consistency.

People show up week after week.
Children grow up here.
Adults improve here.
Families stay here.

In 2025/26, this environment was recognised when 10is Academy was named LTA Cambridgeshire Tennis Club of the Year. The recognition reflects daily life on court.

From First Steps to Competitive Teams

At 10is, tennis begins early.

Toddlers and young children discover coordination, balance and movement in an atmosphere that feels safe and playful. Foundations come before pressure.

Juniors progress through structured stages, learning technique, match understanding and resilience at the right pace.

Adults arrive for different reasons. Some are complete beginners. Some return after years away. Others compete regularly in county and national leagues.

Across all levels, the principle remains the same: Coach the individual. Move players forward when ready. Keep standards high.

A Club That Feels Alive

On any given week:

  • Juniors arrive straight from school
  • Adults step on court after work
  • Teams prepare for weekend league matches
  • Parents stay to watch and connect

There is movement, conversation and shared focus. Sessions are organised and purposeful, yet relaxed enough to feel human. That rhythm defines the club.

Competition Without Intimidation

Competition is part of growth.

Our internal structures, including the 10is Race and regular match formats, allow players to compete consistently in a familiar setting.

Players learn how to:

  • Handle pressure
  • Reflect after matches
  • Win and lose constructively
  • Play meaningful tennis across a season

Beyond internal play, our league teams have won over 20 divisions in the first four years of the club’s existence.  Progress is measured. Improvement is earned.

Social Tennis & Mixed-In Sessions

Not every meaningful moment happens during structured training.

Our Mixed-In sessions and social evenings allow juniors, parents and adults to share the court in a relaxed but organised setting.

Phones are put away. Conversations happen. Support builds naturally.

These sessions strengthen the club beyond coaching hours.

Clinics That Raise the Standard

A few times each year, our rhythm shifts.

When international players or experienced coaches are home from the tour, they step into club life and run open clinics.

There are no closed doors. No hierarchy. Juniors and adults often share the same courts.

These days are not presented as spectacles. They are moments where curiosity rises and standards lift.

For many members, they become defining memories.

Holiday Camps & Shared Moments

During school holidays, courts remain active.

Holiday camps combine structure, movement, match play and enjoyment. Children leave tired and proud.

End-of-term moments, team gatherings and club-wide events bring everyone together.

These are not add-ons. They are part of why people stay.

Inclusion & Belonging

10is Academy has been recognised for its commitment to inclusion, including strong nomination for the Tennis Opened Up Award.

From welcoming beginners of all ages to supporting SEND players and creating accessible pathways, the aim is simple:

Everyone deserves a place in the game.

Why It Matters

When people feel supported, they improve. When improvement feels steady, they stay. When they stay, tennis becomes part of life. That is what Cambridgeshire recognised.

And that is what life at 10is Academy feels like.

Be Part of It

The best way to understand life at 10is is to experience it.
