10is Academy Ely delivered an exhilarating tennis experience over the weekend with the 10is Race Stage 3: Roland Garros. The academy's top players competed in an impressive display of talent, captivating tennis enthusiasts from Saturday, April 15 to Sunday, April 16.
On the first day, players in the 9 & Under, 12 & Under, 18 & Under, Singles ladies, and Singles men categories competed.
Ren emerged the winner in the 9 and under category, displaying excellent tennis skills and potential.
In the 12 and under category, Oskar was a standout player, dominating with his forehand and demonstrating some smart tactics. Meanwhile, Mutsuko continued her winning streak and solidified her position as the unchallenged leader in the singles ladies' race.
In the men's category, Seb emerged as the winner, capitalising on Tom's cold and Max's injury.
Sunday was devoted to doubles matches, and it was a day filled with thrilling action. The Ladies kicked off the day's events in the morning, with Mutsuko & Sam as the favorites in the women's category, having won the Australian Open earlier this year. The duo brought their A-game, displaying an excellent display of skill and teamwork that proved too much for their opponents. Mutsuko's confidence helped her and Sam secure the doubles win, making it two slam wins for Mutsuko, who was on a remarkable winning streak.
In the men's doubles, Tom & Sebastien faced off against Lukaz and Richard in an intense match. The first set was quickly won by Tom & Sebastien, who were the favorites going into the game. However, Lukaz and Richard didn't give up easily and fought back hard, making the second set an entertaining back-and-forth exchange. In the end, Tom & Sebastien emerged victorious with a final score of 6/1 6/3.
The doubles day provided a fantastic opportunity for the academy's players to show off their teamwork skills and sportsmanship, and it was clear that all the players had come prepared to give their all. The small crowd who had gathered to witness the matches were not disappointed and were treated to an exciting display of tennis that left them eager for more.
